Magic Gel's New Magic Wands

octobre 04, 2018

Hello lovelies!
I'm back after a while and I have something really exciting for you guys! I came back from a family trip to some amazing nail mail from Magic Gel System and guess what was in it! Their brand new Advance Brush Set!

This set, on top of being super aesthetically pleasant in this cute little box, comes with five brushes that you'll get tons of use of! Let's start from top to bottom.

The first one is ''Flawless Sculpting #6''. If you guys follow my Instagram page @kayspolish you have probably seen me using the ''Flawless Sculpting #7'', well this one is the same but smaller to fit smaller nails and believe me, this can be SO convenient! I use this brush a ton for sculpting extensions and for painting a whole nail with gel paints. Then we have ''Abstract Fantasy #3'' which is absolutely perfect for some funky designs Picasso style. Followed by ''Calligraphy Art #2'' which I am super thrilled about because I really want to try old English letters designs and I now have the perfect brush for it! The fourth brush is ''Stunning Flowers #2'' which will help you create small flowers in no time. To finish with ''Perfect Dot #00'' which will always give you the flawless circular dots you've been wanting to create.

You want my honest opinion? Here it is. If you are someone who likes to push the limits of art on the small canvases that are our nails, these tools will definitely make your life a whole lot easier and happier! I have used Magic Gel brushes before and the quality of their brushes is amazing and it is no different with this new brush set!

Hope you liked this short review of these new magic wands from Magic Gel System and please let me know which one of these you think you'd use the most in the comment section below!

This Hand Is So Real!

août 24, 2018

Hi lovelies and so sorry for being so MIA lately!
But I am back for good now and I am bringing you something super exciting... My review of Red Iguana's realistic practice hand!
The first thing I have to say is WOW... If you don't already own it, you NEED this hand in your life! So many times I wanted to film a tutorial for a cute nail art design I had in mind but I didn't because I didn't want to ruin my manicure... and then I sometimes still decided to do a tutorial on false nail tips but we have to admit it is not the same! Or just to try out a new design you have in mind... You never really know 100% how your idea will look unless it's on a hand well now you can do this without having to do it on yourself or have someone coming in for it. Ok, now to the review itself, but first, let me put a picture right here.

I mean, look at all the details!!! I truly have never seen something this real. What I think I love the most as well is how you can place the fingers in different positions. It is amazingly practical when you want to take pictures of your art which I often do. Unless you know, the chances are people seeing your pictures will think you took a picture of someone's hand.

I am truly thankful to have this hand to practice as it gives you the practice that will be the most similar to working on someone's hands and once you'll work on real hands you'll have mastered the technique and come up with perfection!
April of Red Iguana was also kind enough to provide me with a discount code to share with you guys so you can save some money! The code is KAYSPOLISH and can be used on everything from Red Iguana's website.

Hope this review was helpful to you!

New CJS Got Plaid? Plate

mai 24, 2018

Hey loves,

Looking for the perfect plate to do lines and plaid designs? I FOUND IT! The Original Clear Jelly Stamper just came out with this PERFECT stamping plate for it! It's cute little name is ''Got Plaid?''

So for the base shade, I used Ella&Mila's ''Holiday Fling'' from their Elite collection. Now for the stamping I obviously used Clear Jelly Stamper's ''Got Plaid?'' plate, but also two of their amazing stamping polishes; #56 (Salted Caramel) and #66 (Petal Princess). Oh and as always my one and only Big Bling stamper from them as well. What I love the most about their plates, in particular, is you can combine several images with different colours together and make one whole, like I did here in this look. If you haven't tried their products yet you definitely are missing out!

Hope you liked it! Let me know in the comments what you'd like to see next! (I also linked all the products I used directly on their names)

Throw Back To My ESI Nails

mai 17, 2018

Hi loves and happy Thursday!
Today I thought I could go back a couple weeks and share my ESI mani with you guys. I have to say I was completely out of my comfort zone here. Freehand lines like these are not my forte but I still had to give it a try. I think it's a good way to go forward in life in general, when you take on some challenges and step out of your comfort zone. This is how we learn and become better! Am I not right?

So for this set, I started by painting my thumb, pointer and pinky with Bio Seaweed Gel's 'Victoria' and my middle finger with 'Kandi Yamz', also from them. (Ok before I go on every polish and tool I will mention are all from Bio Seaweed Gel.) For the flowers I used the REVOLUTIONARY 'Artiste' and on my thumb, ring finger and pinky I painted the flowers using again the color 'Kandi Yamz' and their Liner#1 brush. Once I was satisfied with how much the petals had spread, I cured and used the color 'Berry Sweet' for the interior of the petals with the same liner brush but without 'Artiste'. Then the last step, was the black lines and dots. These I all did using the same liner brush, the color 'Sarah' and a random dotting tool I had in my drawer (that one not from BSG). Top it all with their fabulous 'No-Wipe Top' and Voila!

Hope you liked this look, because I'll be back very soon with more!

All Your Little Ones Together

mai 09, 2018

Hey loves,

I had been on the hunt for the perfect solution for my small round stamping plates to be kept all in the same place for a long while now. Going through all the different tiny round stamping plates holders was just driving me nuts. Now do not get me wrong, the small holders are really good and I loved using them but with the number of plates I had it just wasn't the right solution for me anymore.

As most of you guys already know, I have recently started a collaboration with Bundle Monster and they sent over my way this absolutely cute stamping plates holder and with that, they ended my small plates storage issues!
First things, I love how classy this holder looks with the leathery-snake-skin texture on the outside... and for having tried different holders like that, I have to mention the zipper... BEST QUALITY I'VE SEEN! As opposed to the others I have tried, I am not stressed that the zipper will break as I fill the holder with plates. Some I've tried have many slots to put plates in but then won't close when I fill them in.
Now this particular holder can hold up to 156 small round plates if you put plates on both sides and will close perfectly and also your plates will not slip out. On the other side of the pages, there is no opening though so that is something maybe could be good for them to do but seriously it is a small detail as this holder is truly amazing... I would highly recommend it without a doubt!
Hope you liked this review,

Let's play with full cover tips

mars 06, 2018

Hi lovelies,

so a while ago I got myself some full cover nail tips and a holder with the idea to start doing some press-on sets.. but I abandoned this idea and then I figured I could just use them for fun, as baby is asking his mama's arms every 15 minutes, swatching just became a whole lot harder! hehe

So here is, I decided it was now perfect to let my creativity loose, but on these nail tips instead of on my nails. This way, I can stop at any time, without having to ruin the work when baby Jake wakes up in crisis.

I did not think I was going to like it that much but I kind of like the result a LOT! <3

Products used:
So for this set, I first started by polishing all the nails using Bio Seaweed Gel's ''Whitehorse'' Unity gel. Then I used Clear Jelly stamper's ''Scholastic'' plate to create this Romeo&Juliet/Theater design. I stamped the letters using their ''Teal or No Deal'' stamping polish and in the shades ''Shiraz!'' and ''More Like 1 AM'' for the masks.

Please let me know how you like it!

V Day Hearts And New Clear Chrome

février 14, 2018

Hey loves,

So a couple days ago I got an amazing package for review from the sweet Christy of Sparkle & Co. and there are some exciting news here and I'll tell you about it while showing you the last mani I did using her products from A to Z.

So first things first, I used one coat of her base gel, to continue with her gel color #18 which is A MA ZING! One coat of thig gorgeous red and you are DONE! (Of course I protected it with a coat of her No-Wipe top coat)

Now I was super excited to try the new Clear Chrome and loved it! It adds this discreat, yet beautiful effect! This time around I tried it over red, but I am still super curious to try it over many more colors! <3 So here is the result.

...and time for the big news which I am super excited about it, Sparkle & Co. will now be having stamping plates and supply! Now I got to try one this week along with the stamper that is available on the website and I loved it! For stamping I used her black and white regular polish which worked fine, along with their stamper which I have to say works amazingly! So here it is, little V day hearts for you guys.

Hope you liked this look,

Love, K.

Brands

février 03, 2018

Good morning nail lovers...

Today I really felt like sharing with you something that comes from the very bottom of my heart... I was chatting with a friend about this and then thought I would share with you too... by "this" I mean BRANDS.

Great ones, least great ones, the first thing to know a brand is to try it, work with it, play with it! ...because first impressions are not always true to the product itself. Take huge brands for example, that are all over distribution stores, all over the media and important magazines or events. A lot of them even get important prizes... but are they really the best or is it only an image? After speaking to many nail professionals and trying many brands myself, I can tell you that the most mediatised products or brands aren't always the best and even to some extent sometimes not liked at all.

Now the product is THE big chunk of a brand of course but to judge it we gotta take many things into consideration. For me, first comes health. I don't want to be there worrying about if being exposed to the products I use on me or other people with cause reactions or will be harmful in any way. If the smell of it will be bad for my baby who will pretty soon be walking around while I do my nails etc. Then you don't want to spend your money on products that will either not last or will be hard to work with. That is all part of the quality of a product... and you also want the brand you'll invest in to have a large variety of colours to choose from (in the case of a nail polish brand) not to HAVE to get different brands to have all the colours you want. Also, some brands will lose their main focus and divide their energy into so many different products that the quality or other details might get lost in the way... Not that they will deliver a bad product, don't get me wrong, but the ones having their focus very clear will most likely end up giving better overall quality.

...but the product (even if of course VERY important) is not everything in a brand as opposed to what some people may think. The PEOPLE behind a brand mean the world to me! I have had opportunities to swatch for some brands that I have turned over because I wasn't feeling it with the people or how they did things, even if I knew their products were probably great and wanted to try them. The PEOPLE behind a brand are the ones who make the whole brand worth it! They are the reason people come back to their store or purchase from them again and again. They are the ones who make us WANT to keep working with their products and themselves. They will treat you like the person you are, see your full potential, take pride in helping you with genuine advice and do everything in their power to make you happy. To me, this is what counts the most!

This being said, you guys know that I have tried and keep trying MANY brands, and do not worry, the reviews I give you are always 100% honest! ...but many many times while speaking with my husband about it, I have told him; if for some reason I would have to narrow down the number of brands I work with to two, even if many of them have good products and amazing people behind them, it would take me less than two seconds to choose!

The two brands I would choose have, together, EVERYTHING I need to be happy. They both have their focus extremely clear and dear to their heart and this allows them to really deliver THE best products to people all over the world! Their products are everything to them because they give their heart and soul to it... and they have truly AMAZING people behind them!

Want to know who they are? Well, here they go!

First one is a gel polish brand that I have worked with for over a year now and they are the only brand I offer to my family and friends when they want me to do their nails. It's a brand with whose products I KNOW people won't get bad reactions with. It's a brand who has so many colours that I could never NEED to go pick in another brand to have the colours I want. Their products are of an astonishing quality, stay for a long time, even have vitamins in them to help your nails getting stronger... and I could keep going forever like that, but what I have to say is that the PEOPLE behind the brand now have become like family to me and I am not exaggerating at all! I am in contact with them on an everyday basis now and not only to talk about nails but to talk about just anything and seriously my life would not be complete without it! You know it, I am talking about Bio Seaweed Gel!

Then comes a stamping brand, because gosh you know how much I LOVE stamping... This brand started with one person who was feeling she didn't have every tool she needed to fulfil her work and she invented something that now tons of brands have because her idea was truly wise and conquered the world. She made stamping so much easier! The products of that brand have an AMAZING quality and every single time I use them I know everything will go smoothly and as expected. The stamper I cannot go without comes from that brand, the stamping polishes are both healthy and THE most efficient I have tried so far and the plates, oh the gorgeous plates make me look like a pro at doing nails! What is also SUPER important to my eyes is that the lady who founded that brand and invented these amazing products, even if her brand became huge, she is the most simple and sweet person and I love chatting with her... You probably guessed it, I am talking about Clear Jelly Stamper!

Now I know this article was a lot of talking and if you have read it all, THANK YOU! I know this was quite long but I felt like I needed to share this with you guys because these two brands deserve all these paragraphs and much MUCH more! I don't only like those brands and their people I love them and hold them very dear to my heart! I will be forever thankful to them for many reasons, among them, making me believe in my potential and talent, helping me build up my self-confidence!

Love, K.

Valentine's Hearts

janvier 24, 2018

So here it is... I think this is my fave. I haven't done so many valentine's day manicures in my life but still, this is the one I prefer of them all. I just adore how it turned out! It is not something out of this world, but sometimes I think simple things can be beautiful!

So to get into details, I first went on with Bio Seaweed Gel's 3Step colour ''Sweetie'' and gave it two coats (Also used their Stronger base and No-Wipe top). As you can see on the image on the left, I could have left it like that and it would have been beautiful but y'all know how much I like stamping!

That being said, next step I took Clear Jelly Stamper's small square plate called ''Layers Of Love''. The inside of the hearts I stamped them using their stamping polish #55 ''Pomegranate Pop'' and the contour I did it with their polish #02 ''Jenny's Gonna Love It''. Everything of course was stamped with their Big Bling XL stamper which if you have read my previous posts, you know is THE best stamper I have tried so far! <3

Little bit of me sharing my thoughts here...

A while ago it would have taken me for EVER  to reverse stamp these little hearts in order to colour the inside but thanks to Debbie (Of Clear Jelly Stamper) , we now have access to amazing layered plates which makes it super easy to get an even better result than with the reverse stamping technique, and in NO TIME. Seriously I have to say I am very grateful for that, makes me so proud to be Canadian!  <3

Anyways, hope you liked this cute little V day mani!
Love, K.

Pinky-Glittery Valentine's Mani

janvier 19, 2018

Hey loves, I am back with a pink mani, being the first Valentine's day mani for this year. You might have seen it on my Instagram or my YouTube channel but hey... better late than never. I know normal Valentine's day manis include red colours but I felt more like pink so here it is!

First off, I painted all the nails with Icing from Bio Seaweed Gel and covered the last two fingers in Purple Passion by them as well. ...and then, of course, comes the stamping. The plate I used is ''Layers Of Love'' by Clear Jelly Stamper along with their Big-5 Free stamping polishes and Big Bling XL stamper which is my all time fave! As simple as that!

Love, K
