Adding Some Stamping To It.

novembre 28, 2016

Good afternoon lovelies,

I guess you probably remember my attempt at holographic powder. We I just felt it was missing a bit of shapes and contrast. So that is why I decided to add up some stamping to it. I chose a black stamping polish to give the holo all it's place and not let it getting lost under the creme color of the stamping. I thought black was the perfect contrast to make that holographic polish shine.

The material I used was ,of course, the holographic powder I talked about in one of my previous posts, from the Born Pretty Store. I also used their black stamping polish which I just LOVE (item #22322) and the plate, coming from the same store, is plate BP-L026 (item #21812).

I hope you gals like the result!

novembre 26, 2016

Here goes my last tutorial! :)

I used Born Pretty Store's stamping plate BP-L014 as well as their silver stamping polish. I used a gel top coat for my mani to last longer.

Receiving a giveaway prize!

novembre 26, 2016

I don't know for you guys but winning a nail related giveaway makes me feel like if had won the lottery! Not long ago, the Born Pretty Store ran a giveaway on Instagram to which I participated by sharing a picture and adding a hashtag... you know the drill. They where giving out a beautiful Christmas stamper. I chose the green silicone head and the black and golden stamp holder.

Honestly I do not regret my choice it just looks stunning! On top of that, they included 2 winter Born Pretty mini card-like scrapers which are very practical and have the perfect amount of flexibility. The stamper itself came in a cute little plastic box which if you get that product on their store (item #36395) I highly suggest you keep. This stamper is qualified as a marshmallow or very sticky if you prefer. If you leave it out there in the air, dust tends to stick to it. On my side, what I do is I always leave it in its little box to avoid getting too much dust on it.

I have played with it a little bit already and what I can tell you is that it picks up ANY image on ANY plate perfectly and without any effort. Images look flawless on it and it applies the image very well on your nails, specially if you have curvy nails like mine. (I will be showing it in a little while and you'll see it gives amazing results! )

On that note,
have an amazing day nailart lovers!

Love,
K.

For the love of Holo!

novembre 25, 2016

Good morning nail art beauties!
So yesterday I received some nail mail, and some days ago too but the one  from yesterday was special because it contained HOLO!! I will be showing the whole content of my last nail mail in a next post but I am still expecting a couple thingies in the mail so as soon as I get them I'll be posting it up in here.
For now, let's just say I couldn't wait for using that so called holographic magic powder. I know I might be late on the trend but things tend to be slow to get to my cold land haha. So here's the result of my first attempt to holo powder.

To make the long story short, I first tried it to follow the instructions which said that I had to apply the magic powder on top of a non-wipe gel top coat. The result of it was... nothing. the powder would just NOT stick to the polish. So I went with the trial and error and I found the right way to do. I applied the polish to a cured gel colored polish. In my case it was a soft pink one. I am just OBSESSED with the flawless result of it!

To make my little review of the product itself, I really think it is an amazing product which any holo lover should get. It is cheap and of an amazing quality. It is easy to apply and there is no need to use a latex barrier to protect your cuticles because it doesn't stain your skin at all. It just doesn't stick to it. It comes with a gel-ish makeup applicator which work fine and makes the powder easy to apply. On the other hand, I am thinking about getting myself a silicone brush to apply the powder because although good, I do not thing the applicator will last many applications.

The powder I got is item #34011 from the Born Pretty Store and I Highly recommend it.

Cheers to those nail fail stories

novembre 23, 2016

Do we agree that not all of our experiments when we have billiant ideas of new nail designs turn out as planned? We know that reality doesn't necesarily go along with expectations. That beautiful nailart table of your probably turned out to hell a couple times, covered in cotton balls, polish residues and TONS of acetone. So here's my last nail fail which just happened last night.

It all started with that new stamping plate that came into the mail not long ago. I had been thinking of what to do with it for a while and I finally had the idea I as looking for. The idea was to do sort of a reversed stamping using geometrical shapes and combine shimmers and glitters with creme polishes. I am not the best at reversed stamping so at first I tried a bunch of stampers to see what level of stickiness was best for it. My answer; the more it is sticky, the toughest it will be.

Another thing I tested to contribute to the epic failure my attempt ended up being, was the top coat I applied to my Uber Mat to create the reversed stamping design I wanted. I was so excited to FINALLY try my Seche Vite that I decided to go with it. WRONG! It just dried so fast that it would just unstick from the mat as soon as I tried to stamp on it. At first, I thought it was simply because of my stamper which was the most sticky I own but just the same result came out.

In clonclusion, I just ended up with a full of acetone cotton balls graveyard on my table BUT I do have some nice tips for you NOT to repeat my nail fail....

1. Sticky/Marshmallow stampers, although REALLY amazing for regular stamping, are not the best for reversed stamping.
2. Sèche Vite is NOT made to be the top coat you apply the your mat for reversed stamping.

I hope you could learn from my mistakes and feel free to comment your nail fail stories in the comments!

Sèche Vite in stores in Canada!

novembre 23, 2016

OVER-EXCITEMENT  ALERT! I just found the famous, the one and only, Sèche Vite is sold in my local drugstore!!! I don't know for the other provinces but for the province of Quebec.. Guys just head up to Uniprix!!!

I normally don't go to that drugstore because it is not as near from my home as Jean-Coutu or Shopper's Drugmart but I just happened to hang in there and I saw, for the first time, the Sèche brand in front of my very own eyes! Unfortunately there were different Sèche polishes, Uv, not UV Clear etc... but NOT the Sèche Vite I was so excited about. :( So that is when that amazing lady came and opened the drawer which contains their extra stock and HERE IT WAS! Sèche Vite was there, looking at me, saying ''bring me home!'' .... You guessed it, I couldn't resist. The fact that there was only one bottle was definitely a sign.

On that happy note, I'll definitely be giving you notices of me trying it out for the first time!
Have a good day lovelies!

Stamping of the Day

novembre 18, 2016

Here is a small stamping design I did really fast on the corner of the table because when you are near from the end of a semester and you teach 181 students, you have a LOT of assignments to correct and not a lot of time to do it. Also, since I can't live without having my nails done, I came up with this!

For the base color, I used ''Yellow'' from the Probelle Beauty Textured collection.
The stamping plate used is from the Born Pretty Store: Plate BP-L012 (item #19367)
The stamping polish is the Shimmer Green Stamping polish from the Born Pretty Store. (item #23198)
The stamper (item #24021) and scraper (item #21872) are also from the same store.

I just love how the combination of color came out. It even made my students react so it's a good sign.
Hope you guys liked it!

Love, K. ;)

Free Shipping when you live in Canada

novembre 17, 2016

Well yeah! Because we are canadian, we are not part of the lucky ones who practically ALWAYS get free shipping for all their nailart-related orders. Luckily enough, we DO have very nice nailart companies who think about us and give us access to that free shipping.

_________________________________________________________________________________

The first one on which I order MOST of my nail goodies is the Born Pretty Store. Most of you probably know them but if you don't, you really have to take a look at their wide, wide, WIDE, WIDE...(did I say wide?) range of different nail art and beauty products. They simply have EVERYTHING a nailart addict might need and they ship their products for free in any country of the world.

There is also Nail Polish Canada which provides free shipping to Canada for purchases above 29$. They have most popular brands of nail polishes such as Color Club, China Glaze, Picture Polish, Zoya and many more. They really have a LOT of choices. For people who choose not to buy for 29$, they do add a 4$ flat rate to the orders. They also have a list of items which they ship for free anytime with no minimum purchase required.

Swatches of the new Textured collection of Probelle Beauty

novembre 17, 2016

Good morning beauties!
A couple weeks ago I had the chance to receive an AMAZING nail polish collection from a company that I didn't know about yet and I can tell you I am truly happy to know them now and I would reccomand it to ANYONE who's looking for a unique type of nail polish.

Probelle Beauty came up with this beautiful textured collection which is a serie of ten different color polishes that are all very opaque and most of them only need one coat to give a perfectly opaque look. A couple seconds after applying the polish the beautiful sandy look appears to give the polish all its beauty. What is nice about those polishes is that you can easily choose if you want your nails to have a sandy texture or, you can also modify it by applying a glossy top coat.

Hope y'all enjoy it! So here are the swatches of it!
